Techworks Gives Back: LIADV Donation

IMG_2058

Ronkonkoma, NY – June 8th, 2023

Techworks Consulting, Inc. has initiated our Techworks Gives Back program, where our team has dedicated time and resources to help nonprofits and our Long Island Community by providing technology they typically would go without. As part of this initiative, we have curated a dedicated team who have donated their time and expertise to review and refurbish decommissioned laptops and desktops, ensuring it is restored to full working order.

In an effort to give back to the community and support organizations making a difference, Techworks Consulting recognized the immeasurable value of equipping non-profits with essential resources as they often face budget constraints. By repurposing the gently used laptops, the company aims to bridge the technology gap and empower these organizations to fulfill their missions more effectively.

Techworks Gives Back is delighted to announce that our recent donation of ten refurbished laptops will be donated to Long Island Against Domestic Violence, a non-profit organization committed to providing support and resources to survivors of domestic violence. These laptops will enable the organization to enhance their services and further their mission of breaking the cycle of domestic abuse.

Over the past month, the Techworks Gives Back volunteer team has been volunteering our time diligently to assess 10 laptops and perform necessary repairs and upgrades and replace all required hardware. We’ve ensured that the donated equipment met the highest standards of quality and performance. Through their meticulous efforts, the laptops were transformed into refurbished workstations that perform as if brand new.

Techworks Gives Back has dedicated itself to our Tech4Good initiative this year, working together with nonprofits to give them technology they typically would go without. Recently, with the donation of decommissioned technology from Sachem Public Library, we were able to donate 5 complete workstations to a school in need, P.S. 272 Curtis Estabrook in Brooklyn, NY. When we received the technology, our team volunteered their time and worked together to review all the equipment to make sure it was able to be restored to working order. Our techs then destroyed all data, and refurbished workstations to make sure it performs brand new. It was our pleasure to hand deliver them to PS 272 this past Friday. Techworks Gives Back – LIADV Receives Latest Donations

LIADV_Pick_up

COVID-19 has presented significant challenges. Many families do not have the resources to access virtual learning platforms. The Techworks Consulting team wanted to do their part to lend a helping hand.

As part of Techworks Consulting's ongoing commitment to giving back to the Long Island community and their Techworks Gives Back program, they organized a donation drive to support Long Island Against Domestic Violence (LIADV) and their communities. Once these devices were collected, the Techworks team put their skills to work to ensure each device was operating successfully and ready for use.

With the help of donations from clients and friends of the firm, the Techworks team was able to collect numerous pieces of technology. Their dedicated and driven staff volunteered their own time, often staying late after work to ensure each piece of donated technology was throughouly reviewed, repaired and refurbished. Once ready, they worked with LIADV to arrange a safe pickup.

LIADV had this to say, "Thank you to the Techworks staff and the many donors who contributed to providing laptops, kindles and smartphones to our clients.”

The Techworks team is grateful for the opportunity to give back and are looking forward to their next chance to make a difference in their community.
